One size fits most

Biggest mistake a designer can make is designing for oneself… or for no one in particular.

The “perfect target audience” you’re told to visualize? That person doesn’t exist. Personas are averages—like clothes sizes—fit a few, but miss most.

A better approach is simple: start with someone you actually know. Try designing for them, show it, see what they think. It’s messy, real, and far more useful than guessing.
